top 4) report of the Chair

Mr Neugel – EuDDC 2006 – was organized at a very pleasant venue–
Many Thanks to Spain.

World Dog Show Poznan/Polen – more than 400 entries of great danes so it was the largest show on the continent. The quality was very
impressive.

Despite the negative press the great Dane maintains its fascination
and this was demonstrated by the exhibitors, that took the burden
of very extensive travels.

Mr. Neugel is extremely pleased that this year there are exhibitors from Croatia, Bulgaria and the Ukraine and there are even visitors from Israel.

Mr.Neugel expresses severe dismay that the EuDDC website was not accessible and many complaints did arrive so that there was even the threat to employ a lawyer.
He raises a complaint to Mr. Janssen – „the website will be deleted and newly established.“.

There are 2 web designers : Mr.Boss and Ausra Baksyte, who will
update the site during the weeks to come.

Ms.Pravitas - what will be published ?........ a very heated discussion followed
on the issue: Healthy Dane 2006 , and its publication..

Mr Neugel - People that are interested in a great Dane are hence informed and
they do question very pointedly on the health of the great Dane.
The results of the study originate from realistic informations of
owners.

Ms.Baksyte - in case we obtain information by working for a project
we cannot hide facts and have to publish them.

Mr. Neugel - we continue working for this project and future publications
will appear. - I do respect the opinion of Ms. Pravitas, but need
to finish this discussion by now. We have the additional work
of the Health and Breed Council.

Ms.Pravitas - demands a voting pro / con publications

Mr. Neugel - overruled as there has not been a petition for that

top 9) Health and Breed Council

Mr.Fischbach - Approves of the existency of this commission as it works on an international basis and helps to find common agreements.,

the conformation formular that is under construction since
several years is already taken in France, Poland, Spain and Germany.. The Council now proposes to use it in all EuDDC member
countries, starting from January 1, 2008.

Special note:“ country laws overrule EuDDC-rules“

Merle – the in-colour-breeding must prevail as it isn’t the merle that
poses the problem – it is the breeding of harlequins. The Standard
describes its coat colour as not accepted for breeding and this needs to
be changed.
Where do we begin to consider the merle as merle and where
does it end ? This question needs to be clarified and it is upon
Germany to do that.

No opposition among the delegates to this statement of Mr.Fischbach.

Project Healthy Great Dane 07

Contains very interesting informations.

Illustrated Standard: at present being prepared by France
and will become at the disposition of judges and breeders.
An interim sample was shown around and found approval.

Remark by Mr Neugel : he refers to the resignation from the Council by Ms. Dr. Murante. It is not the person, but the country that had been
elected into the Council.

Mr Orenbuch: the council is to be set up newly – 3 years have passed.
All countries that want to join in should be able to do so- there shouldn’t
be a limitation to 6 countries alone. He refers to top 13 on the agenda.

Mr.Neugel – please come back to this when we discuss top 16.

Mr Neugel – please short in 3 phrases.

EuDDC News – will be stopped as there is very small interest among the members – it will be replaced by a website.

Mr Neugel explains that the EuDDC-conformation may indicate differences
to other national conformations. Germany is already using the EuDDC form.

Comment by Belgium :-but please, NO conformation travel activities.
